The Air Astana Group fleet has grown to 64 aircraft. The airline said on 20 October 2026 that a new Airbus A321neo, registered EI-KDL, has arrived in Almaty. The aircraft flew directly from the Airbus production facility in Hamburg, Germany.
The narrow-body, medium-haul aircraft has a two-class cabin with 28 seats in Business Class and 156 in Economy Class, 184 seats in total. According to the airline, the new aircraft will support further capacity growth and the expansion of the route network.
The Air Astana Group fleet consists predominantly of Airbus aircraft, ensuring a high degree of fleet commonality, operational efficiency and reliability. The A321neo belongs to Airbus's modern generation of aircraft, offering improved fuel efficiency, enhanced passenger comfort and reduced environmental impact.
The new aircraft will operate on both domestic and international routes. Its first commercial flight is scheduled for 5 November 2026 from Almaty to Astana.
Our assessment: growth of the group's fleet increases the volume of work for maintenance and ground handling companies and for training centres working with the Airbus A320 Family. A largely single-type fleet makes it easier for suppliers to standardise services. This is flycentralasia's conclusion, not a statement by Air Astana.
