Kyrgyz carrier Asman Airlines and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (COMAC) are strengthening cooperation in civil aviation development and exploring new promising areas for joint work. This was announced by Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Management Board of Manas International Airport JSC and Airports of Kyrgyzstan JSC, on his official Instagram and LinkedIn accounts on September 24, 2026.
The parties have reached a mutual understanding on further cooperation, with one of the key areas being the exploration of a potential acquisition by Asman Airlines of modern COMAC-manufactured aircraft — the C909 and C919. As part of the cooperation, COMAC will provide Asman Airlines with the necessary technical and commercial information on the C909 and C919 aircraft. The parties also plan to jointly conduct economic assessments of their operational efficiency, taking into account Asman Airlines' existing and prospective route network.
An important area of further cooperation will be collaboration on airworthiness matters and support for the validation process of COMAC aircraft type certificates in the Kyrgyz Republic, in coordination with the State Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In addition, representatives of Asman Airlines will visit COMAC's manufacturing facilities in Shanghai, where they will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the aircraft production process and hold substantive discussions on further areas of cooperation.
