An ICAO aviation security audit will take place in Tajikistan from 7 to 19 November 2026. This was announced by Habibullo Nazarzoda, director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, at meetings at Dushanbe International Airport and the state unitary enterprise Tajikaeronavigation.
According to Nazarzoda, 2026 is especially important for the country's civil aviation workers because of the upcoming ICAO audits. He urged airport and air navigation staff to prepare thoroughly and show the international community Tajikistan's progress.
This is the second ICAO check this year: in January and February 2026 an audit covering flight safety took place. The November audit covers a different area: the protection of civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference. In September the Tajik government set up an interdepartmental commission to prepare for the audit. Which facilities will be inspected has not been reported yet.
Our assessment: an aviation security audit affects the work of airports, screening and ground handling services, so stricter checks at facilities are possible in November. For security services, ground handlers and partners of Dushanbe airport it is a reason to review procedures in advance. This is flycentralasia's conclusion, not a statement by the Civil Aviation Agency.
