Kuwait's Jazeera Airways is interested in resuming flights to Kazakhstan once the situation in the region stabilises. This was reported on 13 October 2026 by Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry after a meeting between the country's Ambassador to Kuwait, Yerzhan Yelekeyev, and Jazeera Airways chief executive Barathan Pasupathi. According to the ministry, the airline confirmed its interest in the Kazakh market and its intention to consider resuming direct flights once the situation stabilises and operating conditions become favourable.
Jazeera Airways launched the Kuwait City-Almaty route in 2021. It was later suspended because of the regional situation. The suspension date, the timing of a resumption and the frequency have not been disclosed.
Our assessment: the statement records the carrier's interest, not a decision to relaunch: a return depends on conditions in the region's airspace. For Almaty airport and tour operators working with the Persian Gulf, it is a signal that the low-cost carrier is considering a return to the market. This is flycentralasia's conclusion, not a statement by the airline.
