Jupiter Jet unveils first cargo Boeing 757 at Astana Finance Days

At Astana Finance Days 2026, held at the Astana International Financial Centre, businessman Kanat Kopbayev unveiled the first cargo aircraft of his new airline, Jupiter Jet — a Boeing 757-200 brought in from Arizona, USA.

The aircraft arrived at Turkestan airport — the carrier's home base — on 4 September 2026. It was named after Kazakh poet and philosopher Abai Kunanbaiuly.

Kopbayev holds an 87% stake in Jupiter Jet. He said the company plans to grow its fleet to 10 aircraft, but faces a regulatory constraint: Kazakhstan prohibits the import of cargo aircraft older than 25 years (i.e., built before 2001), narrowing the pool of available secondary-market aircraft.

The unveiling took place on the second day of the forum, whose program included a dedicated aviation finance track with participation from airlines, airports, cargo carriers, banks, and leasing companies.
