KazMunayGas subsidiary KazMunayGas-Aero will build an aviation fuel and lubricant storage facility in the Orangai rural district of the Sauran district, Turkestan Region, the company said.
The facility will store JET A-1 and TS-1/RT grade aviation fuel, along with lubricants. Total storage capacity will reach up to 8,000 cubic meters. Estimated investment is 10 billion tenge (approximately $22.39 million).
The regional coordination council has already approved allocation of a 10.93-hectare land plot, with land survey documentation currently being developed. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. Once commissioned, the facility is expected to create around 50 jobs.
This is not KazMunayGas-Aero's first infrastructure project in the region: in July, the company signed agreements with KazFoodProducts and US-based KBR to build Kazakhstan's first sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production plant.
