On 7 October 2026, Kyrgyzstan's Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev, in a message congratulating civil aviation workers on their professional holiday, said the country is considering expanding its aircraft fleet by four more aircraft: two mid-haul and two turboprop. The aircraft models, timeline and funding sources were not named.
Kasymaliev also noted that a new international airport is under construction in the Jalal-Abad region. According to him, together with the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway it should help form a major regional transport and logistics hub. The head of government named Kyrgyzstan's removal from the European Union's aviation safety list as one of the year's significant achievements.
What changes: this is an intention to expand the fleet in two segments at once, trunk routes and regional services. For comparison, AIFC forecasts that Kyrgyzstan's fleet will grow from 20 to 35 aircraft by 2030.
Limit: this is a statement that the question is under consideration, not a contract. Models, timeline, buyer and funding sources have not been announced.
