Osh airport's new terminal due by end-2026, new Jalal-Abad airport in Q3 2027

Airports of Kyrgyzstan has set the goal of completing the new terminal complex at Osh airport by the end of 2026 and the new Jalal-Abad international airport in the third quarter of 2027. This became known on 14 October 2026 following an inspection of the sites by the company's chairman of the board, Manasbek Samidinov. He instructed staff to keep to the deadlines, monitor the quality of materials and ensure that the work complies with the design documentation.

The new Osh terminal covers more than 25,000 square metres and is designed to handle more than 5 million passengers a year. Construction began in February 2025. The project also includes an automated car park for 650 vehicles, an expanded apron and runway modernisation. In December 2025 completion was given as summer 2026; the deadline has now moved to the end of the year.

The new Jalal-Abad international airport is being built on a site of about 381 hectares in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region. Construction began in May 2025. The project includes a 3.8 km runway, two taxiways and six aircraft stands; aerodrome category 4E will allow it to receive Boeing and Airbus aircraft. These are deadlines for completing construction, not for entry into service: no opening dates have been given.

Our assessment: two projects in southern Kyrgyzstan with near-term completion dates create demand for terminal and ground equipment, airport IT systems and ground handling services. For suppliers this is a window to talk to the operator before the facilities open. This is flycentralasia's conclusion, not a statement by Airports of Kyrgyzstan.
