Nordwind to launch Kazan–Fergana flights from 25 November: once a week on A321

Russia's Nordwind Airlines will begin direct flights between Kazan and Fergana (Uzbekistan) on 25 November 2026. The launch was announced on 29 October by the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the Uzbek side, flights will operate once a week.

Schedule

The flight from Kazan departs on Wednesday at 22:30 and arrives in Fergana at 04:00 local time (Thursday); flight time is 3 hours 30 minutes. The first flight from Kazan is on 25 November. The return flight leaves Fergana on Thursday at 06:15 and arrives in Kazan at 08:05; flight time is 3 hours 50 minutes. The first return flight is on 26 November. The aircraft is an Airbus A321 with 220 seats.

Connections via Kazan

According to the press service, passengers from Moscow, St Petersburg, Krasnodar, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk and Ufa will be able to fly to Fergana with a change at Kazan airport. The terms of such connections, including a single ticket and baggage handling, are not disclosed in the statement.

Context

Fergana joins the list of Uzbek destinations that Nordwind flies from Kazan. According to schedule publications, the carrier already operates or has announced flights from Kazan to Samarkand (from 26 August 2026) and Namangan (from 5 September 2026), once a week on the A321. In June Nordwind announced the resumption of Kazan–Tashkent flights from 18 July.

What has not been announced

The length of the programme (the date to which flights are scheduled), fares, sales volumes and plans to raise frequency have not been named. It is not disclosed how ground handling in Fergana will be organised.

Our assessment: one weekly flight with a late-night departure from Kazan is aimed mainly at travellers between Tatarstan and the Fergana Valley, and at those connecting in Kazan from other Russian cities. For Fergana airport this adds to its existing Russian destinations rather than creating a new air link with Russia. This is flycentralasia's conclusion, not a statement by Nordwind.

What businesses can do. Tour operators and agencies in the Fergana Valley should check seat availability and fares near launch and not sell packages until the winter-season programme is confirmed. Tourism companies and carriers in Tatarstan can assess demand for connections via Kazan. Fergana airport and ground services should prepare for a 04:00 arrival.
