SCAT Airlines will launch a charter program of direct flights on the Bishkek–Sanya–Bishkek route starting in early December 2026. The service will operate without layovers, significantly cutting travel time for passengers heading to Hainan Island in China.
The route was discussed at the intergovernmental level. On September 11, 2026, representatives of Kyrgyzstan's state airports held talks on opening the route during a visit to Haikou, China. On September 23, 2026, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev raised the direct-flight proposal during a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
The launch coincides with China's new visa-free regime for Kyrgyz citizens, allowing stays of up to 10 days on Hainan Island without a visa. This creates an opening for packaged tourism offers on a route that has been largely absent from Central Asia's charter market, which has traditionally centered on Turkey, the UAE, and Egypt.
Flight frequency, aircraft type, and ticket prices have not yet been disclosed.
