Turkistan International Airport announced on 8 October 2026 that it has received ISO 9001:2015 certification. According to the airport, its quality management system meets the international standard. The certificate covers airport operations, airport services and ground handling. The airport said it will keep improving its processes and service quality.
ISO 9001:2015 is a general international standard for quality management systems. It assesses how an organisation manages its processes and does not replace aerodrome certification or aviation safety requirements. Turkistan's aerodrome certificate was issued separately, in 2020.
Our assessment: for airlines considering Turkistan as a destination for new flights, and for companies working with the airport on ground handling, documented processes make interaction more predictable. This is flycentralasia's conclusion, not a statement by the airport.
For airlines, tour operators and service suppliers: when negotiating with the airport, ask for a copy of the certificate and the list of processes within the certification scope.
The certification body, audit date and validity period were not named. The announcement was published by the airport itself, with no independent confirmation.
