Uzbekistan Airways and Chinese aviation interiors manufacturer Jiatai have announced the start of large-scale cooperation. The contract, signed on June 15, 2026, makes the Uzbek carrier the world's launch customer for Jiatai's new JT220B Premium business-class seat.
For Jiatai, this marks its first passenger seating project in Central Asia. Under the agreement, the company will equip more than 10 new Airbus A321neo aircraft with JT220B Premium business-class seats and JT520E economy-class seats. The first delivery is expected in March 2028.
The JT220B Premium seat features electric adjustment, enhanced privacy through dedicated partitions, reading and ambient lighting, headrest wings, improved cushioning, and a zero-gravity recline position.
Uzbekistan Airways Board Chairman Shukhrat Khudaykulov said passenger comfort and service quality remain among the airline's key priorities, calling the new cabin fit-out "another step in this direction." Jiatai Chairman Liu Jingfeng said the company was pleased to welcome Uzbekistan Airways as the launch customer for the JT220B Premium.
