Uzbekistan's Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov met on 10 September with Lufthansa Technik CFO Christian Leifeld and German Deputy Ambassador Marion Edel.
The sides discussed extending technical support for the country's Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 fleets through 2035, as well as engine services for the LEAP-1A and CFM56-5B engines used on Uzbek carriers' aircraft.
Separately, the talks covered cooperation with Tashkent State Transport University — Lufthansa Technik proposed organizing internships for the university's students, a potential step toward training local technical personnel to support the region's growing fleet.
The meeting comes amid a broader expansion of Uzbek carriers' fleets and rising demand for maintenance of both widebody and narrowbody aircraft.
